Carrying out works in open and operational buildings presents inevitable challenges—particularly when it comes to minimising disruption to staff and tenants. Drawing on our extensive experience delivering projects in live environments, we prioritise building strong working relationships with our clients. This collaborative approach enables us to schedule works at the most appropriate times, whether that involves working outside of normal hours or during quieter periods of the day. Recognising the impact of noise in office environments, we make every effort to carry out disruptive activities within pre-agreed time windows, ensuring minimal disturbance to building occupants.
What made this project particularly unique compared to most fire door replacement schemes was the client’s requirement to match the new, compliant fire door sets to the building’s original period-style doors. These bespoke door types are not commonly available through standard manufacturers. However, by working in close collaboration with our fire door manufacturer and referencing relevant test evidence, we were able to make controlled modifications in our workshop to replicate the original design features, while ensuring the fire integrity and certification remained fully intact.
